Police found dozens of drivers using fake licenses

On May 15, the Traffic Police of Thua Thien - Hue Province discovered a car with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate, driven by Nguyen Tan Dung (residing in Da Lat City, Lam Dong), traveling on National Highway 1 carrying more people than the permitted number.

Through checking the vehicle documents, the authorities discovered that the driver's vehicle registration certificate was not issued by a competent authority.

At the investigation agency, the driver stated that he bought the car registration certificate for 2 million VND through brokers at the Eastern Bus Station (HCMC).

According to the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police, this agency is handling nearly 20 cases of using fake documents for transportation by car that have just been discovered and arrested.

Major Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police, said that most of the subjects used the method of scanning color photos, real documents, then forging signatures and seals to forge registration certificates, car driving licenses, and certificates of technical safety inspection and environmental protection.

"People who buy and use fake documents to drive cars without going through training or use expired vehicles pose a very high risk of traffic accidents," said Major Tuan.
