North-South Expressway - 'lifeline' promoting socio-economic development of Nghe An province
(Baonghean.vn) - The North-South Expressway is a vital and especially important traffic route with great economic, social and political significance, helping to improve traffic infrastructure and connect the economies of many localities across the country, including Nghe An.
In Nghe An, the North-South Expressway passes through 39 communes of the province, connecting the economic and political centers of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa provinces in particular and the North Central region in general, gradually completing the synchronous infrastructure, promoting the socio-economic development of the Central provinces in general and Nghe An in particular.
The North-South Expressway project, the section through Nghe An, is 87.84 km long, passing through Hoang Mai town and the districts of Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen.
Of which, 79.31 km through agricultural land, 8.53 km through residential land, the number of resettled households is about 642 km. The total estimated cost of site clearance is 2,762 billion VND, of which Nghi Son - Dien Chau section is 1,261 billion VND and Dien Chau - Bai Vot is 1,501 billion VND; the project approval is 2,191 billion VND.

The North-South Expressway through Nghe An consists of two component projects: The Nghi Son - Dien Chau section investment and construction project, with a total length of 50 km and a total investment of VND8,380 billion, of which the cost of compensation for site clearance is VND1,423 billion; The Dien Chau - Bai Vot section project has a total investment of VND13,338 billion, a route length of 49.3 km, of which the cost of compensation for site clearance through Nghe An province is VND1,102 billion.
Currently, the land clearance capital allocated to the project through Nghe An is 696.5 billion VND, of which 541.4 billion VND has been paid. Nghe An has cleared about 52.5/87.84 km, reaching 59.77%.
Recently, at a working session with Nghe An province, comrade Nguyen Nhat - Deputy Minister of Transport acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and results of the Nghe An Party Committee and authorities in clearing the land for the North - South Expressway project. Nghe An has stepped up propaganda, created consensus among the people, mobilized the entire political system to participate, accelerated the progress to soon hand over the land to the investor. "Although only nearly 60% of the length has been cleared, Nghe An is the second province in the country in terms of land clearance progress (after Ninh Thuan)" - Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat said.

The Deputy Minister of Transport also emphasized that the process of land acquisition and clearance must be carried out carefully and thoughtfully, in conjunction with population rearrangement. Resettlement sites must be built according to new rural infrastructure standards.

According to the GPMB progress, Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc will hand over forestry and agricultural land to the project before December 31, 2019, pay money, hand over the entire land, and complete site clearance for resettlement sites before December 31, 2019. Relocation of technical infrastructure works (electricity lines, telecommunication cables): Hand over the entire land before June 30, 2020.
North-South Expressway(full line symbol isCT.01is the most common name of a Vietnamese highway located very close to the vital National Highway 1A, connecting the two regions of South and North Vietnam. However, unlike National Highway 1A extending from Lang Son to Ca Mau, the North-South Expressway only connects Hanoi to Can Tho.
In the 2017-2020 period, the North-South Expressway project invested 654 km, divided into 11 component projects, with sections from Cao Bo (Nam Dinh) to Bai Vot (Ha Tinh); from Cam Lo (Quang Tri) to La Son (Thua Thien Hue); from Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) to Dau Giay (Dong Nai), My Thuan 2 Bridge, Tien Giang and Vinh Long.
