Re-issuing health insurance cards to hundreds of people affected by floods
(Baonghean.vn) - Storm No. 4, the storm's circulation, and the release of floodwaters from hydroelectric dams in the area have caused severe damage to the people of the western districts of Nghe An. Not only were valuable assets and materials lost, but many other important documents, including health insurance cards of many people, were also swept away, damaged, and torn by floodwaters.
After the flood, the waterlogging and stagnant mud pose many potential health risks to people, especially the elderly and children. Without a health insurance card, people's right to medical examination and treatment will be affected, especially in the context of life being very difficult at present.
Faced with this reality, the provincial Social Insurance has directed the Social Insurance of Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts to urgently organize working groups to go directly to flood-affected areas to learn about and grasp the situation, re-issue health insurance cards and handle issues related to health insurance cards for the people.

Accordingly, local Social Insurance agencies have carried out this urgent task since the end of August. In Cam Lam commune, Con Cuong district, after visiting the situation of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, the working group of the district Social Insurance organized propaganda and dialogue on social insurance and health insurance policies for nearly 100 cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the commune People's Committee, schools located in the area, commune health stations, village chiefs, village elders and people in the commune.
The district Social Insurance also borrowed the office of the commune policy officer, arranged printers, computers, and health insurance card blanks to print and reissue health insurance cards for people right at the commune; received applications to correct information on people's health insurance cards with the aim of providing people with health insurance cards to promptly examine and treat diseases during the time of disease risks arising after the flood. Right in the morning working at the commune, the district Social Insurance printed and reissued 140 health insurance cards and received 42 applications to change information for people in the area.
Next, the working group of the district Social Insurance continued to visit the people of Don Phuc commune. Here, 72 people's health insurance cards were lost; 30 health insurance cards with information adjustment requests were printed and reissued to the people right at the commune People's Committee. The district Social Insurance also received 32 cases requesting new health insurance cards and coordinated with the commune policy officers to complete the procedures for issuing the cards and sending them to the people.
Up to now, Con Cuong District Social Insurance is still continuing to coordinate with local authorities of the remaining communes in the district to conduct a general review and reissue health insurance cards to people right in the commune; ensuring that people in the area enjoy full and timely health insurance benefits.

In Tuong Duong district, the district Social Insurance sent two working groups to Luong Minh and Thach Giam communes to reissue health insurance cards and handle health insurance card-related issues for the people. In Thach Giam commune, district Social Insurance officers provided specific instructions to the people on the processes and procedures; received, processed, printed and reissued health insurance cards for 38 cases requesting reissue of health insurance cards due to loss or change of information right at the hall of the commune's community cultural house.
Similarly, in Luong Minh commune, 2 computers, 1 printer specialized in printing health insurance cards and other related equipment were brought up by the district Social Insurance agency to serve the need to reissue health insurance cards and handle arising situations related to health insurance cards for 93 people here.

With the motto of "not letting people return to their villages without a health insurance card in hand", in recent days, the Social Insurance of districts with people affected by floods have been urgently coordinating with policy and judicial officers of the commune to review and complete related procedures to issue new and reissue health insurance cards, ensuring the people's right to medical examination and treatment, affirming the humanity and social security of the Party and State's policies./.
