Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training visited and encouraged 2 teachers who had an accident on their way home from school.
(Baonghean.vn) - The head of Nghe An Education Department presented gifts to support and encourage the spirit of two female teachers who were unfortunately buried by rocks and soil on their way home from school.
On the morning of September 30, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province led a delegation of the Department to visit the Medical Center of Tuong Duong district to encourage and visit 2 teachers who had an accident on their way home from school. The delegation was also accompanied by Mr. Lo Thanh Nhat - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district.
At the hospital room, after listening to the doctors discuss the health status of the teachers, the head of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training shared about the difficulties, hardships and even dangers that the teachers had encountered.
"Due to the difficult terrain, teachers in the highlands have a very hard time. We acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices of teachers in the education career," said Mr. Thanh, while encouraging teachers to quickly stabilize their health and spirit to continue working.
After giving gifts to support the two teachers, Mr. Thai Van Thanh asked the school and the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Tuong Duong district to pay attention and create conditions for the teachers to rest and receive treatment.

According to doctors, the two teachers were taken to the emergency room in a state of panic. After examination, Ms. Luong Thi Thanh Thuy (45 years old) suffered broken ribs, while Ms. Vong Thi Thuong (35 years old) only suffered scratches and soft tissue injuries. The two teachers are expected to be discharged in the next few days.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 29, after school, Ms. Thuy drove Ms. Thuong from school to her home in Thach Giam town by scooter. Along with the two girls, there were two other colleagues riding behind. About 2km away from the school, reaching National Highway 7A (through Khe Kien village, Luu Kien commune), rocks and soil from the mountain suddenly collapsed, bringing with them a meter of dust. The two female teachers and their motorbike fell over, and were swept down the slope by rocks and soil and dust, crushing them. The lower parts of their bodies were buried by rocks and soil, making it impossible to move. Ms. Thuy was also trapped under a guardrail on the side of the road...
Luckily, at that time, two colleagues behind them called for help in time. After nearly an hour, dozens of people had to use excavators to rescue the two female teachers and take them to the hospital.

Mr. Thai Luong Thien - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Tuong Duong district said that before the annual rainy season, the department sends a document to schools to note that based on the actual situation of floods in the area, they can decide whether to let students stay home from school or continue to go to school, ensuring the safety and health of all students and teachers.
"Currently, there are 12 schools in the area at risk of landslides, near streams with high currents, making it impossible to travel, and students are temporarily staying home. The floodwaters are gradually receding, so next week all teaching and learning activities in the area will return to normal," said Mr. Thien./.
