The total length of the bridge and route is 5,271 km.
The project started on February 15, 2019, with a construction schedule of 18 months. Currently, Project Management Board 6, contractors, and localities are actively focusing on the project and up to this point, the progress has reached more than 60%, basically according to plan.

Specifically: Main bridge section with 3 spans (86+153+86)m: Completed the bridge's lower section, construction of K4 cantilever section at main pier T12 and K1 cantilever section at main pier T11. Approach bridge section: Basically completed the entire bridge's lower section structure, cast 157/240 Super-T girder slabs, installed 17/34 spans, completed 6/34 bridge deck spans. Route section: Basically completed 2.4km/2.4km of K95 roadbed, basically completed catK embankment, in progress of installing wick drains to treat weak soil.
Regarding site clearance work: Nghe An province has basically completed it. Currently, about 97% of the site has been handed over to the contractor. There are still issues with land and assets on the land of 1 household, 1 gas station and some infrastructure works such as electricity lines, water lines, telecommunication cables.
Ha Tinh province:The entire site has been basically handed over to the contractor, only about 30m in the middle of the route has not been cleared.
According to Project Management Board 6, Ministry of Transport, in Ha Tinh province and neighboring areas, there are many projects being implemented at the same time, so the source of earth filling materials is very scarce, not enough to supply the Project and the actual cost is high, scattered rains lasting for a long time due to the lack of public roads greatly affecting the construction progress.
On Nghe An side, a part of the intersection of the main route with Provincial Road 535 has not been handed over clean land by the Land Clearance Council of Cua Lo town, so the completion of the intersection is facing difficulties.
In addition, the arrangement of local budgets of Nghe An and Ha Tinh to serve the project is not guaranteed. Currently, the capital has been arranged for the project of more than 676 billion VND, of which: Government bond capital has been arranged 450/450 billion VND. Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has arranged 49.2 billion VND for site clearance work; Construction and installation has arranged 25.0 billion VND (fully disbursed).)On March 26, 2020, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision to allocate an additional 60 billion VND.
Ha Tinh side: The project has been allocated 17.3 billion VND for site clearance and 75 billion VND for construction and installation by the Provincial People's Committee.
To ensure the final timeline of completing the entire project before the 2020-2025 term Party Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee scheduled to take place in October 2020, the provinces need to continue to pay attention to timely arranging capital from the local budget to implement the project.
