World's highest bridge nears completion in China
(Baonghean.vn) - Chinese engineers said on September 12 that they have completed the basic structure of the Beipanjiang Bridge and are expected to turn it into the world's tallest bridge upon completion.

The Beipanjiang Bridge, built in Guizhou Province, southwest China, is 565 meters above the river and is expected to be 1,341 meters long, according to the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport.
Thus, Beipanjiang Bridge has surpassed Si Du River Bridge in Hubei Province to become the highest bridge in the world.
The Beipanjiang Bridge is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2016 and will shorten the travel time from Liupanshui City in Guizhou Province to Xuanwei City in Yunnan Province from five hours to just two hours, China Central Television reported on September 12.
