(Baonghean.vn)- With the secret of chili, garlic, ginger and wine, a farmer in Nghia Dan district (Nghe An) has successfully created biological pesticides to take care of his clean guava garden, earning more than 100 million VND.

In Nghia Dan district, many people know Mr. Nguyen Tien Dong in Phu Hong hamlet, Nghia Hong commune with a clean guava garden that brings in an annual income of about 100 million VND.

As a technical officer of the Red Flag Farm, realizing that the current market has a great demand for fruit trees, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dong in Phu Hong hamlet, Nghia Hong commune (Nghia Dan) boldly converted sugarcane growing land to grow Pearl guava.

His guava garden has a very strict and meticulous care process from planting to fruiting. When the fruit is as big as a big toe, it will be wrapped in a foam bag and a layer of plastic outside until harvest to minimize pests. In addition, his guava garden is cared for and disease-free very specially, absolutely no pesticides are used, so it is trusted by people inside and outside the area.

Mr. Dong said: "Just grind garlic, chili, ginger and soak them in white wine for 10-15 days to get the finished herbal pesticide. Starting in 2016, I boldly tested this pesticide on an area of ​​6 sao of guava. As a result, the guava grows very well, the leaves are green and resistant to some pests. Every day, my family's guava garden sells more than 50kg, with the current price of 20,000/kg, each day the family earns over 1 million VND".

Currently, Mr. Dong's 1-year guava garden with 400 trees has a revenue of nearly 100 million VND. "Compared to other pesticide products, this homemade herbal pesticide, although it cannot kill all insects, is extremely effective in repelling them, with a high fruit set rate. In particular, it does not pollute the environment or water sources, is safe for users, and costs are also reduced by 40-50% for each crop" - Mr. Dong shared.

According to Ms. Le Thi Ha, who specializes in buying guava in Thai Hoa town to sell at markets around the area: "Every two or three days, I go to Mr. Dong's guava garden to buy about 50 kg, sell it all and then come back to pick more. This guava garden has crispy and sweet fruits so I can sell them at a good price."

From the success of the super clean guava model, Mr. Dong has invested in installing a drip irrigation system, planning to expand the area to more than 1 hectare in the near future.
