Mr. Lam Van Thang was elected Vice Chairman of Nghia Dan District People's Council.
On the afternoon of February 25, the People's Council of Nghia Dan district, term XX, 2021 - 2026, held the 19th session (special session), carried out personnel work and resolved on the plan to arrange specialized departments of the District People's Committee.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of Nghia Dan District People's Council approved the Proposal and Resolution on the dismissal of Mr. Ngo Van Thanh from the position of Vice Chairman of Nghia Dan District People's Council, term XX, 2021 - 2026 (change of job position).
The district People's Council delegates elected Mr. Lam Van Thang - Head of the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Nghia Dan district People's Council, term 2021 - 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, the new Vice Chairman of the District People's Council, Lam Van Thang, thanked the District People's Council delegates for their trust and confidence, affirming that this was both an honor and a responsibility for the Party Committee, government, and voters in the district.
Mr. Lam Van Thang promised to continue studying to improve his qualifications, practice and cultivate moral qualities, together with the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, the District People's Council committees, and the District People's Council delegates to perform their functions and tasks well; continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the District People's Council's activities, coordinate effectively with the District People's Committee, the District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and departments, branches and organizations to create momentum for socio-economic development and strengthen national defense and security in the area.
Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Nghia Dan district voted to pass a resolution on reorganizing specialized departments and public service units under the District People's Committee.
Specifically: Merge the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs to be named the Department of Home Affairs with the functions and tasks of the Department of Home Affairs and receive the functions and tasks of advising on State management of labor, wages; employment; meritorious people; occupational safety and hygiene; social insurance; gender equality from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Transfer the functions and tasks of advising on State management of religion to the Department of Ethnicity and Religion.
Establish the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas (on the basis of receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management of construction, traffic, industry and trade from the Department of Economics and Infrastructure).
Establish the Department of Culture, Science and Information (receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management of the Department of Culture and Information and the functions and tasks of advising on State management of science and technology from the Department of Economy and Infrastructure).
Establishment of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the functions and tasks of advising on State management on poverty reduction from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs).
Establish the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions (receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management of the Department of Ethnic Minorities, and at the same time, receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management of religion from the Department of Internal Affairs).
Reorganize the departments including: Department of Health (retaining the current functions and tasks of advising on State management, at the same time, receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management on: social protection; children; prevention and control of social evils from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs); Department of Education and Training (retaining the current functions and tasks of advising on State management, at the same time, receiving the functions and tasks of advising on State management on vocational education from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs).
Maintain 4 specialized agencies including the Department of Justice, the Department of Finance - Planning, the Office of the People's Council - People's Committee of the district, and the District Inspectorate. After streamlining, the organization of the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district currently has 11 specialized departments (reduced by 2 departments).
