Thai ethnic boy donates blood 10 times

(Baonghean.vn) - With 10 voluntary blood donations, Mr. Vi Van Quang - Secretary of Tho Son Commune Youth Union is one of the typical examples of Anh Son district in carrying out this noble act.

In 2007, while participating in military service at Battalion 18, Division 10, Corps 3, Vi Van Quang started donating blood for the first time. Since then, in the following years, while studying at university and working in his hometown, he continued to donate blood when there were movements launched. To date, he has become one of the most blood donors in Anh Son district.

Mr. Quang confided: “For me, donating blood is a meaningful act that contributes to saving the lives of patients. This is a silent, silent act and it does not directly create material wealth but creates an extremely great product: life, joy and happiness". According to Quang, after 10 blood donations, he feels "my health is still very good and of course the number of times I donate blood will not stop at 10".

Along with participating in voluntary blood donation, with the enthusiasm and dynamism of youth, Mr. Vi Van Quang always strives to complete the assigned tasks well and is always a leading Youth Union cadre in the local volunteer movements, especially Mr. Vi Van Quang has actively encouraged everyone to participate in blood donation.

“At first, when I encouraged people to donate blood, many people were hesitant because they were afraid it would affect their health. However, as someone who has donated blood many times, I explained in detail the purpose and meaning of voluntary blood donation and affirmed that it is completely harmless for healthy people to donate blood, so many people actively responded,” said Mr. Quang.

With his achievements in the Youth Union and the voluntary blood donation movement, in 2015, Vi Van Quang was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for his many achievements in the movement "Ethnic minority youth following Uncle Ho's teachings" and a certificate from the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee praising outstanding ethnic minority youth along with many other Certificates of Merit. His enthusiasm, dedication and positivity have become the driving force to help spread the meaning and noble human values ​​of the blood donation movement, in line with the slogan "Sharing blood, giving hope"./.
