Concerns for clean vegetables
Every day, I have to witness my mother and younger sister talking and discussing what vegetables to buy and what to eat, and having to choose clean vegetables and clean food. Meanwhile, everyone in the family is busy all day, there is very little time to go to the market, so it is difficult to avoid dirty vegetables. With that concern, young man Thai Huu Tham (born in 1986), residing in Quan Bau ward, Vinh city, Nghe An, has quietly researched and learned how to grow clean vegetables at home, on a small area.
Tham shared: “Around March 2014, I suffered from food poisoning and had to be hospitalized for several days. My health deteriorated and I lost 4kg. During every family meal, my mother was always worried about clean vegetables. My younger brother did not dare to go to the market for fear of being scolded by my mother if he bought dirty food. That made me need to think of a way, a model to help my family have a source of clean vegetables.”
Thinking is doing, Thai Huu Tham went online to research and learn, then went to practice some previous successful models in provinces and cities in the country. In Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ngai, Tham learned a lot of experience on how to grow hydroponic vegetables automatically. After a period of experimentation, around the beginning of 2015, Tham released his first product of this model. Fearing that it would not be successful, Tham did not dare to show it off to anyone. When his family asked, Tham replied that "I made a toy". Luckily for Tham, the first time the product was praised by his family for being beautiful, the vegetables were delicious and very clean, which made Tham extremely happy.
At this time, in Vinh city, the hydroponic vegetable growing model is very rare. Moreover, Tham wants to popularize this technology, helping local people have a source of clean, quality vegetables without having to worry like going to the market.
Desire to green the city with clean vegetable growing technology
To realize this wish, Tham established a company specializing in the clean vegetable growing model and self-operated. At first, the company encountered many difficulties because this model was quite new to the local people.
Tham said: “The model is novel, the construction is simple, the price ranges from 4 to 8 million so only well-off families can do it. The process of growing green vegetables in the gardens, the vegetables are good, healthy and safe, especially very aesthetic for houses with small areas, so Tham is more interested in this model by customers”.
Since then, Tham's reputation has grown further and further. Currently, Tham's company receives 5-6 projects each week, each project costs from 4-8 million VND. The company's monthly revenue is more than 200 million VND, supporting 4 employees with an income of 4-5 million VND.
It is known that this model is simple and not fussy, does not take time to care for the plants but still has clean vegetables to eat every day. This model can be done anywhere, from the roof, stairs, corners, terraces... Having this model at home makes cooking and going to the market simpler, ensuring the health of the family.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city said: "I asked Tham to make this model. After using the model for a while, I found that the vegetables are clean, beautiful, and pest-free. When eaten, the quality is guaranteed to be safe. Moreover, my family does not have to go to the market to buy vegetables anymore. This model does not take time to take care of. From now on, my family does not have to worry about dirty vegetables anymore."
According to Tham, the model of one-time investment can be used for a long time, and the company's staff will come to take care of the plants every day and every week. "I hope that everyone in the city where I live can eat clean vegetables, every house has a beautiful, clean vegetable garden, and in the near future, I will cover the city with clean vegetables."
