Chief judge of district people's court received bribe and was prosecuted

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Kha Van Thanh - Chief Justice of Ky Son District People's Court was prosecuted for investigation of accepting bribes to "fix the case" for a gambler, and is about to be brought to trial.

On the morning of August 4, Colonel Bui Nguyen Tien, Chief of Staff - Nghe An Provincial Police, said that Ky Son District Police had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Mr. Kha Van Thanh - Chief Justice of Ky Son District People's Court to investigate the act of accepting bribes. Mr. Thanh is currently being detained at the Provincial Police Detention Center.

Previously, on the night of July 25, Ky Son District Police raided Mr. Thanh's office at the headquarters of Ky Son District People's Court and caught him red-handed receiving money from a subject named T.

T is one of five subjects involved in a gambling case that was previously arrested and prosecuted by Ky Son District Police but was released on bail pending trial.

After that, T met Mr. Thanh to propose "fixing the case", but because Mr. Thanh asked for a high price, T filed a complaint with the Ky Son District Police.

Upon receiving the complaint, Ky Son District Police sent detectives to investigate. Mr. Thanh was subsequently arrested. The case is currently under further investigation./.
