Comrade Tran Khanh Son:Dong Hieu is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, and was honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit on December 10, 1961. The commune has a favorable location, inter-regional transportation, fertile land, relatively high educational level, and hardworking, studious and united people.

After merging the three communes of Nghia My, Nghia Thuan and Dong Hieu (old), the new commune has more than 28,000 people, an area of ​​nearly 64 km², opening up a wide and diverse development space with potential.

The two-tier government model with strong decentralization helps the commune to be more proactive and flexible in management and operation. At the same time, Dong Hieu commune benefits from the urban development policies of the province, the Northwest region of Nghe An and is on the roadmap to build a ward.

Comrade Tran Khanh Son:Yes, the achievements of the past term are a solid foundation and valuable lessons for the new period. Over the past 5 years, the Party Committee and people of the communes before the merger, now Dong Hieu commune, have united, been creative, and have comprehensively completed the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security consolidation, and Party building.

The economy maintains good growth, production value in the period of 2021 - 2025 increases by an average of 8.25%/year; average income per capita reaches over 62 million VND/year; the poverty rate decreases to 0.83%. The economic structure has shifted positively: agriculture plays a supporting role with more than 3,000 hectares of cultivation, applying science and technology, many models achieve income of over 600 million VND/year; industry - construction grows over 10%/year; trade - services expand, becoming a new driving force.

There has been much progress in culture and society: 9/9 schools have met national standards (of which 4 schools have met level 2 standards), the rate of health insurance participation has reached 95.18%. National defense and security have been maintained, many models such as "security cameras" and "self-managed inter-family groups" have been effective.

From practice, Dong Hieu commune has drawn key lessons: creatively and flexibly applying the policies of the Central and the province; innovating leadership methods; building a clean and strong Party and political system; attaching importance to personnel work; administrative reform; promoting internal strength and making the most of support resources. Development orientation is based on 4 pillars: economy, infrastructure, culture - society, environment - security. Specifically, in terms of economy: Focus on strongly developing trade - services associated with local traffic advantages, forming trade centers, wholesale markets, logistics services to serve the circulation of goods.

Actively attract investment projects to Nghia My industrial cluster, create jobs and increase budget revenue. Develop high-tech agriculture, convert appropriate crop and livestock structures, organize large-scale commodity production meeting VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; promote deep processing and build distinctive agricultural product brands.

Encourage start-ups and innovation, especially in the fields of agricultural processing, handicrafts, and community tourism, to create unique and competitive products and services.

Regarding infrastructure: Complete the regional transport system, connecting Dong Hieu commune with the economic and cultural centers of the province and the Northwest region of Nghe An. Increase investment in commercial infrastructure, standard school systems, and medical facilities to meet people's health care needs. Upgrade and expand digital infrastructure, ensure high-speed internet coverage, effectively serve e-government, digital economy and online public services.

Regarding culture and society: Preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​and historical relics; build a healthy cultural life in residential areas. Improve the quality of comprehensive education, focusing on vocational training linked to labor market needs.
