Bus fire in China leaves 55 dead and injured

(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities in Hunan province, China said on June 26 that a long-distance bus crashed into a fence while traveling on a highway, causing a large fire that killed 35 passengers and injured 20 others.

Reports said there were a total of 55 passengers on board the bus when it crashed into a barrier along a highway in Hunan Province around noon on June 26. Fortunately, no vehicles were affected by the accident.

The Hunan Provincial Police Department and the local fire department rushed to the scene. However, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Police also said the driver, Liu Dahui, 41, was being detained for questioning.

Drivers driving in poor health conditions, vehicles that are not regularly maintained and many obstacles appearing on the road are the main causes of traffic accidents in China.
