Only 1/6 of food safety violators comply with penalty decisions

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, while inspecting the implementation of legal regulations on ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Nghe An province, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team discovered and recorded administrative violations against 6 violating establishments; assigned the Department of Health Inspectorate to issue a decision to impose a fine of 70.8 million VND.
Information from the Nghe An Department of Health Inspectorate: The decision to fine the above 6 establishments was issued on October 6. The establishments that were fined must comply with the decision and deposit money at the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Nghe An branch within 10 days from the date of receiving the decision. Mr. Le Phi Hung - Deputy Chief Inspector of Nghe An Department of Health said: As of the afternoon of October 16, only the food business household Duong Thi Sam, at address Hamlet 5, Dien Thanh Commune, Dien Chau District, had returned the receipt to the Department of Health Inspector.
Among the 6 restaurants and establishments that violated the regulations, 1 restaurant and 1 beverage shop did not have a Certificate of eligibility for food safety. The inspection team requested that the restaurant and the establishment must soon complete the procedures and ensure the facilities for the competent authorities to inspect and issue certificates. This is the most basic and core condition for food production, processing and trading.
Doctor Hoang Quoc Son, Deputy Head of the Nghe An Province Food Safety Sub-Department, said: Currently, Viet Trung Company Limited (Ding Tea Beverage Store) and Nguyen Dinh Trading and Service Company Limited (Thanh Chuong Chicken Restaurant) have submitted their application for a certificate to the Sub-Department. This week, the Sub-Department will review the application and assess the facilities in accordance with legal regulations.
