Just because of being questioned, 2 young men sitting drinking beer in the middle of the street stabbed someone to death
(Baonghean.vn) - While sitting drinking beer in the middle of the street, Trieu and Hong's group was questioned by Mr. Tr. Thinking that Mr. T. was "teasing", Hong and Trieu used a knife to stab someone to death.
According to the records, on the evening of September 12, 2019, Trieu and Hong went drinking with a group of friends. Afterwards, these young men invited each other to Tri Le Bridge (crossing Khai Son and Lang Son communes, Anh Son district) to play. Here, the whole group sat in the middle of the bridge and continued drinking beer.

At about 9:00 p.m. the same day, Chu Van Tr. (born in 1990, residing in Lang Son commune) drove his friend across Tri Le bridge. He saw Trieu's group sitting in the middle of the bridge, so he stopped the car and asked, "What are you doing here?". Hong replied that she was drinking beer, then Tr. asked, "Why are you sitting in the middle of the road drinking beer?"
Trieu threw a knife at Mr. Tr. but missed. Hong ran over, picked up a stick and stabbed Mr. Tr. in the back. The victim was taken to the hospital but died from a stab wound that punctured his lung, causing respiratory and circulatory failure. At the time of the incident, Le Van Hong was not yet 18 years old.
The court of first instance sentenced Luong Van Trieu to 20 years in prison and Le Van Hong to 12 years in prison for "Murder".
After that, the two defendants filed an appeal for a reduced sentence. The victim's representative also filed an appeal for a reduced sentence for the two defendants. However, the appellate court, the victim's representative, filed a petition to increase the sentence for the two defendants. The reason given by the victim was that they wanted the court to judge according to the law.
At the witness stand, the two defendants did not present any new reasons for requesting a reduced sentence, but only stated their difficult circumstances. Defendant Le Van Hong stated that he was under 18 years old at the time of the crime, so he asked for a reduced sentence.
The Court of Appeal rejected the appeals of the two defendants and the appeal of the victim's representative. The sentence for the two defendants was upheld. Luong Van Trieu was sentenced to 20 years in prison and Le Van Hong to 12 years in prison for "Murder".
