Thailand's military government to relinquish power in 2017
Thailand's Defense Minister said the incumbent Prime Minister will not stay in his current position for another term.
On the evening of February 28, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand, General Prawit Wongsuwon affirmed that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) of Thailand will not seek to prolong its power.

Mr Prawit added that this means that Thailand's current Prime Minister, Mr Prayuth Chan-ocha, will not stay in his current position for another term and a general civilian election will definitely be held in 2017.
