Taking girlfriend out, sneaked into house and stole 3 phones

On April 4, Dien Chau District People's Court held a mobile trial of Nguyen Van Troi (born 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Dien Thanh Commune, Dien Chau) for the crime of Property Theft.

The indictment shows that on January 6, Troi invited Sam Thi Tu (employee of Vuon Tram restaurant at Dien Thanh beach, Dien Chau) to go out.

When they reached Highway 1A, Troi told Tu to wait outside while he went to his friend's house to get money. When they passed by Nguyen Thi Viet's house (in block 6, Dien Chau town), they saw that the door was unlocked and no one was home, so they decided to steal it.

Troi sneaked into the house and stole 3 phones including: Iphone 7 Plus, Oppo F1, Viettel phone and 1,770 million VND.

When Troi just reached the door, he was discovered by the people so he ran away and dropped his Viettel phone. Afraid of being caught, Troi and Tu took a bus to Vinh City to hide. On January 7, Dien Chau District Police urgently arrested Nguyen Van Troi.

The Dien Chau District People's Committee's Asset Valuation Council determined the total value of the stolen assets to be more than 28 million VND. Based on the evidence and testimony collected, the Dien Chau District People's Court sentenced the defendant to 18 months in prison.
