It is forecasted that from the evening of September 9 to September 11, Nghe An province will have moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places.

On the afternoon of September 9, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense directed to proactively respond to heavy rain, the risk of flash floods, landslides and localized flooding.

Official dispatch No. 195 stated: According to information from the North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone with an axis through the North, Nghe An province has had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some mountainous areas having moderate rain.

It is forecasted that from the evening of September 9 to September 11, Nghe An province will have moderate to heavy rain, with some places having very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall will range from 60 to 120mm, with some places being higher than 150mm.

To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rain, the risk of flash floods, landslides and inundation that may occur, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of districts, cities, towns and relevant agencies and units to:
Closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and provide timely information to authorities and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage.
Check and review residential areas along rivers, streams, dikes, dams, low-lying areas, and areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people when situations arise; clear the flow and promptly handle construction incidents from the first hour.
People are strictly prohibited from fishing or collecting firewood on rivers and streams during floods or moving into flooded areas or downstream of dams; plans must be in place to ensure safety for vulnerable people in flooded areas.
Be ready to deploy measures to drain water and protect production; prevent flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas to ensure minimal damage.
Notify investors with projects under construction along rivers, on rivers; within the dike protection area about information about rain and floods to proactively take measures to ensure safety for people, vehicles, equipment and projects.
Inspect, review, and deploy operation plans, disaster response plans, and ensure the safety of reservoirs and downstream areas, especially small hydropower reservoirs and important irrigation reservoirs; arrange permanent forces to operate and regulate and be ready to handle possible situations.

Direct specialized agencies to coordinate with media agencies, especially grassroots information systems, to strengthen propaganda activities and disseminate instructions on skills to respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides and localized inundation so that people know, proactively prevent, avoid and minimize damage.
Ready forces and vehicles for rescue when requested.
Organize on-duty seriously, regularly synthesize and report on natural disaster developments and damage to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Provincial Civil Defense.
