La Liga president threatens to sue PSG for dumping Neymar deal
Mr. Javier Tebas believes that the French team will seriously violate the Financial Fair Play (FFP) law once buying the Barca superstar.
PSG are reportedly ready to pay $257 million to buy out Neymar's contract with Neymar, a huge sum that far exceeds the current transfer record ($120 million for Paul Pogba). Although the French club is confident that they have not violated financial fair play rules behind this deal, those in power are still skeptical about its transparency.
"Even if PSG doesn't pay $257 million for Neymar, we will still file a lawsuit against them," Tebas promised in Mundo Deportivo. "No one believes that PSG can attract better sponsorship deals than Barcelona or Real Madrid."

The issue Mr Tebas mentioned is the "unbelievable" $235 million-a-year contract PSG just signed with Oryx Qatar Sports Investments. That amount is seen as a way for PSG to circumvent the law, helping them offset the huge transfer fee for the Brazilian player. FFP stipulates that a team cannot lose more than $35 million over a three-year period.
"Nobody believes that argument. We have all studied economics and such a big deal cannot happen," Mr. Tebas said harshly. "Qatar and PSG are clearly dumping prices, they violate UEFA's financial fair play rules as well as EU economic standards. We will file a lawsuit against them."
Recently, UEFA's Financial Control Body (CFCB) also declared that the $235 million contract between PSG and a Qatari company was fake, because the value was inflated by double. In 2014, PSG was fined about $70 million and had its transfer spending restricted for violating financial fair play rules.
Despite his interest in Neymar, Tebas is indifferent to the prospect of La Liga losing Brazil's best player. "La Liga and Barca are more important than Neymar," Tebas said. "I'd only worry about the reputation of the league if Ronaldo or Messi were to leave."
