On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2016 - 2017, I would like to send my best wishes to generations of cadres, civil servants, and officials in the education sector, parents and students nationwide.

I am pleased to know that in the 2015-2016 school year, the Education sector has made great efforts and implemented synchronous solutions to continue to innovate management work, innovate teaching models and methods, and achieved positive results. Teachers, education managers have promoted the spirit of responsibility, dedication, and wholeheartedness for beloved students; students are enthusiastic in studying, constantly cultivating and practicing to form the qualities and capacities of workers in the new era; many students participated in regional and international Olympic competitions with high results, continuing to affirm Vietnamese intelligence in the international arena. The achievements of the Education sector have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, the State and the people, and have been awarded many noble prizes and titles.

In the 2016-2017 school year, the education sector needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training. Focus on developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources; strengthen discipline, pay attention to moral education, life skills, awareness and civic responsibility; focus on investing in developing education and training in remote, border and island areas and for policy beneficiaries; improve the quality of comprehensive education, linked to the needs of socio-economic development, effectively serving the cause of industrialization, modernization and international integration of the country.

I hope that students will continue to promote the nation's tradition of studiousness, nurture the aspiration to build an increasingly better life for themselves, their families and society, strive, practice, and achieve many results in their studies and scientific research, so that in the future, they will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors to build our country to become increasingly rich and prosperous.
