Dear teachers, educators, officials, and staff of the Education sector, dear parents and students!

On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2016-2017, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all generations of officials, civil servants, and employees in the education sector, as well as to parents and students throughout the country.

I am pleased to learn that in the 2015-2016 academic year, the Education sector made significant efforts and implemented comprehensive solutions to continue innovating management practices, teaching models, and methods, achieving positive results. Teachers and education administrators demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, dedication, and wholehearted commitment to their beloved students; students enthusiastically studied, continuously cultivating and developing the qualities and abilities of workers in the new era; many students achieved high results in regional and international Olympiads, further affirming Vietnamese intelligence on the international stage. The achievements of the Education sector have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, the State, and the people, receiving numerous prestigious awards and titles.

In the 2016-2017 academic year, the education sector needs to continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the Party and State's policies on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training. Focus on developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources; strengthen discipline and order; pay attention to moral education, life skills, civic awareness and responsibility; prioritize investment in education and training in remote areas, border regions, islands, and for policy beneficiaries; improve the overall quality of education, linking it to the needs of socio-economic development and effectively serving the country's industrialization, modernization, and international integration.

I hope that students will continue to uphold the nation's tradition of studiousness, nurture the aspiration to build a better life for themselves, their families, and society, strive and train hard, achieve many results in their studies and scientific research, so that in the future they can follow in the footsteps of their ancestors to build our country into an increasingly prosperous and beautiful nation.
