Returning to the locality and directly talking with voters and people at the polling stations, what impressed me most was that voters and people were all very happy, enthusiastic, and eagerly looking forward to election day.

In particular, voters who are ethnic minorities said that when going to the market, they already dress nicely, but on election day, they dress even nicer so that election day is like a festival for the people.

Therefore, I firmly believe that the election day will be a great success, the voter turnout will be very high and the most outstanding and worthy representatives will be selected from among the candidates and that will certainly be a national festival, a great festival for all people.

This election has a very special difficulty due to the Covid-19 outbreak. How have the National Election Council and localities prepared to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic during the election process, Mr. Chairman?

This election is very special. For the first time, we are holding an election in the context of the strongest and most dangerous outbreak of Covid-19 ever in nearly half of the provinces and cities of the country, forcing many places to implement isolation and social distancing.

Responding to the new situation, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Election Council, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have issued guiding documents and telegrams directing localities to develop scenarios and plans to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and natural disasters, storms, and floods that arise during the election preparation process and especially on election day, May 23, 2021.

On the other hand, the authorities are working day and night to trace, isolate, contain the epidemic, and ensure vaccines to maintain normal civil activities, which is an important foundation for a smooth election.

Recently, on May 18, the National Election Council held a national online conference on election work to review, listen to, and resolve difficulties, problems, recommendations, and proposals, in order to unify awareness, high determination, to prepare most carefully, toElection DayIt was truly a "National Festival", "National Festival" and was a great success.

With the new regulations on the number of full-time National Assembly deputies and the structure of candidates for National Assembly deputies according to the official list announced by the National Election Council, what are your expectations for the new National Assembly?

According to the Law on Amendments and Supplements to a Number of Articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly in 2020, the proportion of full-time National Assembly deputies is raised to a minimum of 40%. In the process of introducing candidates and consultation, agencies, organizations and units also give priority to introducing candidates to become full-time National Assembly deputies at the central and local levels.

The total number of candidates introduced to be expected to be full-time National Assembly deputies at the central level is 129 people, and at the local level there are 67 people out of 866 candidates introduced. Most of the candidates are people with capacity, qualifications and political qualities that have been honed through challenges and practical work.

In the activities of the National Assembly, National Assembly deputies are the center, but full-time National Assembly deputies will play a pivotal role in law-making, supreme supervision and participation in deciding important issues of the country.
