National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue holds talks with National Assembly Chairman and meets with Bulgarian President

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 25, local time, at Aleksander Nevski Square, the center of Sofia, Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov presided over a solemn welcoming ceremony for National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on an official visit to Bulgaria.

Accompanying the National Assembly Chairman were members of the Party Central Committee: Bui Van Cuong - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office; Vu Hai Ha - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee; Le Quang Huy - Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment; Thai Thanh Quy - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province. Leaders of the ministries: Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment, Culture, Sports and Tourism and leaders of several localities.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue had a meeting and talks with Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov.

At the talks, Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov warmly welcomed National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly on their official visit to Bulgaria; and warmly congratulated the great achievements of Vietnam's "Doi Moi" cause, in which the Vietnamese National Assembly plays a very important role.

National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov also affirmed that the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is of great significance, marking a new step forward in the relationship between the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his joy at leading a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to visit the beautiful, peaceful and hospitable country of Bulgaria for the first time as Chairman of the National Assembly; and thanked the Bulgarian National Assembly for its warm welcome and brotherly friendship for the delegation.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully conveyed to the Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman the regards and best wishes for health from the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

In a spirit of friendship and frankness, the two National Assembly Chairmen had in-depth discussions on many issues, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

The two leaders said that bilateral cooperation has been strengthened and continuously developed in many aspects in recent times, but is not yet commensurate with the political trust and potential of the two sides.

With the desire and determination to deepen the cooperation relationship in all fields, the two sides agreed on a number of major cooperation orientations.

In terms of politics and diplomacy, the two sides agreed to continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations and between ministries, branches and localities; strengthen cooperation between National Assembly agencies, promote the supervisory role and promote the implementation of agreements and commitments between the two countries; continue to coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums such as the United Nations, the European Union and ASEAN.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam supports the Bulgarian National Assembly in strengthening and enhancing relations with AIPA. The Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman thanked and affirmed support for Vietnam in cooperation with the European Union and the European Parliament.

The two leaders agreed that economic cooperation between the two countries has continued to have positive developments in recent times, with bilateral trade turnover continuously growing. To improve the trade balance and strengthen economic cooperation, the two sides affirmed their support for the effective implementation of bilaterally signed documents as well as within the EU framework, and the early organization of the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade and Scientific Cooperation; creating favorable conditions for products with strengths and complementary to each other to access each other's markets, while opening up new areas of cooperation, in line with the development needs of both sides and general trends such as manufacturing, high technology, innovation, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, especially maritime economic cooperation, logistics on the basis of taking advantage of each side's advantages.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully thanked the Bulgarian National Assembly for ratifying the Vietnam - European Union Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) right before the visit; affirming that this is a very meaningful gesture, demonstrating the importance of the traditional friendship and cooperation in many fields between the two countries, while creating a solid and favorable legal basis for businesses of the two countries to expand investment cooperation in the coming time after the Agreement comes into effect. The Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides should exploit the advantages that EVIPA brings, research and establish joint ventures in Vietnam or Bulgaria to produce products that both sides need or export to third markets.

The two sides also agreed that education and training, labor, tourism, and local cooperation are traditional areas of cooperation with great potential that need to be exploited more effectively in the coming time.

Satisfied that the cooperation between the two countries' parliaments is developing well, the two National Assembly Chairmen agreed to maintain regular exchanges of high-level delegations between specialized committees and friendship parliamentarians' groups; increase information and experience sharing in parliamentary activities; continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Cooperation Forum (ASEP), etc.

Discussing international and regional issues, the two leaders agreed that all conflicts and disputes need to be resolved by peaceful means, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

The two leaders believe that today's successful talks will consolidate the foundation of good political relations and elevate the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully invited National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov to visit Vietnam and the Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman happily accepted the invitation.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

Within the framework of his official visit to Bulgaria, on the same morning, local time, in the capital Sofia, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received M&A Director of SoFcarma Group (Bulgaria) Dimitar Naydenov and Managing Director in Bulgaria of Danish DSV Group Krassimira Vandeva.

Previously, on the evening of September 24, local time, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Sofia, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria and five countries including Greece, Romania, Türkiye, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
