To proactively respond and promptly handle the consequences caused by heavy rain, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control requested the Chairmen and Heads of the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control of districts, cities and towns; the Provincial Military Command; the Provincial Border Guard; the Provincial Police; departments, branches and related units to implement a number of contents as follows:
Regularly monitor and update the developments of rain and floods to proactively respond. Check and review residential areas in low-lying areas, riverbanks, streams, areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and downstream of reservoirs to have plans to relocate and evacuate people from dangerous areas, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
Check the safety of the operation of works in the irrigation system; proactively drain water in a timely manner according to the local situation; deploy measures to ensure the safety of dikes, dams, and works under construction; proactively drain water to prevent flooding in urban areas, especially Vinh City and surrounding areas.
Be ready to deploy forces to control and guide people and vehicles through underground areas, overflow areas, flooded roads, landslides, ferry piers along the river and ferry crossings to ensure safety.
