(Baonghean.vn) - Despite the absence of national team player Phan Van Duc who is focusing on the 2019 Asian Cup and Pham Xuan Manh who is undergoing injury treatment, Song Lam Nghe An's training session before the 2019 V.League took place in full force with the presence of veterans and newly promoted young players.
To prepare for the new season in assessing the quality of foreign players as well as finding excellent young players to be promoted to the first team in the new season, SLNA will participate in the 2019 Viettel Open Football Tournament.
This tournament brings together 7 Northern football teams, and is the best opportunity for clubs to practice and perfect their techniques, tactics and test their squads before the 2019 season.
Taking place from January 4 to 12, 2019, with participating teams including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Than Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, SLNA and host Viettel. The teams compete in a round robin format, selecting the 2 teams with the best results to enter the semi-finals.
Coinciding with the 2019 Asian Cup competition of the Vietnam National Team, there will be no national team players present, but this is an opportunity to review the squad and test young players as well as foreign trial players at the end of December.
