On the morning of April 6, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tan Phong directly performed functional endoscopic ear surgery, a new technical method in Vietnam, only applied at central hospitals.

This advanced technique aims to restore hearing to patients by endoscopic method; with many outstanding advantages such as: minimizing anatomical damage, highest efficiency compared to other techniques such as microscopic surgery (less pain, less blood loss, shortened hospital stay, quick recovery time, aesthetic, no scarring).

On April 6 and 7, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tan Phong not only directly examined and performed surgery on patients at the hospital but also instructed and transferred new techniques in the treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases to doctors and nurses at Vinh General Hospital.

Also on this occasion, the team of expert Nguyen Tan Phong, directly led by Dr. Nguyen Van Nghia, implemented the anesthesia technique using a laryngeal mask, a non-invasive anesthesia technique, to help patients be safer during anesthesia.
