US expert admits Ukrainian skies are under complete control of Russian military
The Russian military has full control over the skies of Ukraine, which poses a major problem for the Kiev government, writes US military analyst John Rossomando in an article published on the 19FortyFive portal.
According to him, the Ukrainian infantry currently lacks air support. The reason for this is that the Russian air defense system does not allow the Ukrainian air force to attack ground units.
“Russia's control of the skies is Ukraine's main problem,” the author said.
No help in the sky
He added that the Ukrainian army does not have the necessary equipment to effectively confront Russia. At the same time, the analyst said, supplying Western “miracle weapons” to the conflict zone is a waste of money.
It is mainly about the transfer to Kiev of ATACMS tactical missiles, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and Abrams tanks. This equipment is not capable of supporting Ukrainian troops on the battlefield. Rossomando concludes that due to the lack of military power in the sky, Ukraine simply cannot use the full potential of these weapons.
