Third grade girl becomes Reading Culture Ambassador with story about filial piety
(Baonghean.vn) - Among the three female students who won first prize in the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2023, Nguyen Phuong Uyen is the youngest. She won this title with her introduction to a folk literature work about filial piety - "White Chrysanthemum".
Nguyen Phuong Uyen (born in 2015), is a student in class 3D, Le Mao Primary School (Vinh City). Ever since she started preschool, she has loved comic books. Every night, before bedtime, Phuong Uyen's parents often read her sweet fairy tales with many positive messages.
The love for books originated from there. It has contributed significantly to guiding me to a love of reading, knowing how to draw conclusions from good and right things, and soon reaping "sweet fruit" when winning the First Prize of the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2023.

At Phuong Uyen’s age, folk tales always bring joy and closeness. Those stories not only enrich the child’s soul but also nurture a pure soul, making life better in the eyes of children.
Participating in the Reading Culture Ambassador contest, Nguyen Phuong Uyen told the story of “The White Chrysanthemum” - one of the folk literature works that was deeply ingrained in her memory and heart after just one reading. This is a story about the filial piety of a little girl that helped her mother overcome her illness and become healthy again.

The story “White Chrysanthemum” is told by Phuong Uyen through a carefully staged video clip, contributing to the vividness and appeal of the work’s content. Thereby, helping listeners better understand the feelings of the little girl (main character) for her mother.
Phuong Uyen shared: "Through the story, I understand that it is not the white chrysanthemum that has magical power, but the filial piety of the child that is the miraculous medicine that helps her mother overcome her illness."

According to Phuong Uyen, children’s filial piety towards their parents can be expressed in many different ways. It is not only flowers with 10 points, good deeds but also loving words, gestures, actions, and bright smiles to dispel the worries and fatigue of parents after each working day.
Therefore, children should always be good to deserve the love that their parents have for them. That is also the message that Phuong Uyen wants to send to you through the contest "Reading Culture Ambassador". And let's read books diligently every day to accumulate more good stories, meaningful lessons in life, because a good book will open up many beautiful things for us....

Besides the joy of becoming the Ambassador of Reading Culture, Nguyen Phuong Uyen is also aware of her great responsibility and is confident that, with her love for books, she will fulfill her role well through specific deeds and actions.
And Phuong Uyen will spread the passion for reading to her family members and many friends, trying to help everyone understand the great value that books bring, which is to expand knowledge, nourish the soul, and guide people towards good things.
Currently, the “young” Reading Culture Ambassador has plans to participate in cultural events to promote reading and increase interest in books, introduce good books, exchange books with friends. Actively go with friends to read books at the school library during breaks, the provincial library on weekends.

In particular, I called on my classmates to donate the books I have read to children in remote areas so that books can spread and take flight everywhere. By doing this, I have fulfilled my mission as a Reading Culture Ambassador, creating motivation and inspiration for reading for all ages, contributing to building a stronger and more creative reading community.
Not only passionate about books, Phuong Uyen also proves to be a versatile girl, achieving achievements in many fields. Every school year, Phuong Uyen has achieved the title of Outstanding Student, and was recently honored by the Youth Union of Nghe An Province's Agencies as "Good child, excellent student, beloved Uncle Ho's grandchild". In addition, she is also talented and participates in stage performances, program hosting, sports dancing and basketball competitions...
