On November 4, Long Bien District Police (Hanoi) organized a crime scene investigation and autopsies on two bodies. Accordingly, one victim was identified as Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, 29 years old, living on Quang Trung Street, Ha Dong, Hanoi, owner of the Mercedes GLC 300.

When the car was brought ashore, Ms. Huong’s body was in the back seat. The driver was Bui Kim Chi, 21 years old, a recent university graduate and working at a real estate company.

On the same day, a representative of the Vietnam Register also confirmed that, according to the registration documents, the vehicle owner is Ms. Huong.

Regarding the safety of the Chuong Duong bridge railing system, the leader of the Hanoi Department of Transport said that on the night of November 3 after the accident, the units under the Department inspected, checked and welded to reinforce the collapsed railing positions. Currently, vehicles can pass normally on the outermost lane of the bridge in the direction of the city center.

Previously, at 7:30 p.m. on November 3, a Mercedes traveling from Long Bien to the center of Hanoi suddenly crashed through the railing of Chuong Duong Bridge and fell into the Red River. Authorities dispatched nearly 20 ships and canoes to search, including the rescue team of the Hanoi Police and the rescue team of the Capital Command. It took the search team 5 hours to salvage the car to shore, with two bodies inside.
