Girl dies after swearing by young men

On May 25-26, the Provincial People's Court tried the murder case against Nguyen Xuan Sang (born in 1994), Le Dinh Hoang (born in 1996), Tran Ngoc Tai (born in 1997), all residing in Nghia An commune, Nghia Dan. In the same case, Pham Dinh Nghia (born in 1996) and Truong Duy Thanh (born in 1998) were prosecuted for "Disturbing public order".

According to the indictment, at around 10 p.m. on July 7, 2016, Trinh Van Tam, driving a motorbike carrying Phan Thi Xuan and Nguyen Thi Anh, stopped to go into a shop to drink water, but Xuan did not agree. At that time, Ho Quang Thien and his friends were sitting in the shop, saying, "Come in here to drink sugarcane juice, why go home?"

Tam drove the car carrying Xuan and Anh home, but after about 4 meters, he turned back and cursed.

Hearing Thien say "he cursed him to death", Nguyen Xuan Sang immediately stood up and shouted for everyone to chase and beat Tam to death. At the same time, he took Thanh on his motorbike, while Tai took Nghia, Hoang went alone to chase after him. The chase was at high speed, and at the same time, they pressed into Tam's car, causing Tam's car and Sang's car to fall to the ground. As a result, Phan Thi Xuan died.

The panel of judges determined that in this case, Sang was the one who directly shouted and, together with Tai and Hoang, drove the motorbike and pressed Mr. Tam's motorbike, causing Mr. Tam's motorbike to fall, resulting in Ms. Xuan's death. Although the defendants did not intend to take the life of another person, the consequences occurred. Therefore, the defendants Nguyen Xuan Sang, Le Dinh Hoang and Tran Ngoc Tai committed the crime of murder.

Pham Dinh Nghia and Truong Duy Thanh sat in the back, not directly driving the vehicle causing the consequences, therefore the actions of the two defendants constituted the crime of disturbing public order.

The People's Court sentenced Nguyen Xuan Sang to 9 years in prison, Le Dinh Hoang and Tran Ngoc Tai each to 7 years in prison for "Murder"; Pham Dinh Nghia and Truong Duy Thanh each to 15 months in prison but with a suspended sentence for "Disturbing public order".
