Elementary school teacher who beat student in Quy Chau was warned and suspended from teaching for 1 year

(Baonghean.vn)- Nearly half a month after using a ruler to beat 23 fourth grade students, teacher Quang Thi Huong (Quy Chau, Nghe An) was disciplined with a warning and suspended from teaching for 1 year.

On March 31, the Disciplinary Council of Dien Lam Primary School (Quy Chau, Nghe An) issued a decision to discipline teacher Quang Thi Huong - homeroom teacher of class 4A for beating a student. Teacher Huong received a warning for "violating professional ethics". Along with this disciplinary measure, teacher Quang Thi Huong was suspended from teaching for 12 months.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 15, teacher Quang Thi Huong used a plastic ruler to hit the hands, buttocks and other areas of 23/27 students in class 4A that she was in charge of. The reason, she later explained, was because she was too disappointed with the low results of the mid-term test.

During the assessment process, the Disciplinary Council of Dien Lam School also recognized that Ms. Quang Thi Huong had punished students in a way that was not in accordance with professional ethics regulations.
