Take advantage of safe production
The recent complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic have had a direct and strong impact on fisheries exploitation activities. The fisheries supply chain has been broken, transportation has been interrupted, consumption has been difficult, prices have decreased, and many fishing boats have had to stay ashore due to lack of labor...
According to statistics from the provinces, the number of fishing vessels that stopped fishing for only the three months of July, August and September was 43,200, leading to a decrease in fishing output in these three months of 186,000 tons.
As of September 30, the country had 71,913 fishing vessels, about 1 million direct workers on board, and the number of workers vaccinated against Covid-19 was only about 25%.

Concluding the meeting, after listening to the discussion of the provinces, cities and relevant units, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien stated: From now until the end of the year, although we will have to face difficulties such as high input material prices, local labor shortages, etc., we still have many advantages. Weather conditions are quite favorable; fishing boats and equipment have been repaired and supplemented during the time off to prevent the epidemic.
Under those conditions, the fisheries industry strives to complete the 2021 plan target with marine exploitation output reaching about 3.657 million tons and export turnover reaching 3.6 billion USD.
Adaptive exploitation, ensuring disease prevention
As of September 30, 2021, Nghe An had 3,425 large and small fishing vessels; total seafood output reached 144,437 tons, up 5.95% compared to 2020, with an estimated value of VND 2,920 billion; the number of workers directly involved in fishing at sea was 17,253 people.
Along with a number of other reasons, in the general context, due to the impact of applying measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, Nghe An's fisheries industry also encountered many difficulties.

However, Nghe An has promptly directed localities and units to strengthen control of fishing vessels docking at ports, entering and leaving estuaries and operating in sea areas, limiting the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on fishing activities and product consumption of fishermen. The output and value targets for the first 9 months of the year met and exceeded the set plan.
In the last months of the year, Nghe An advocates adaptive, safe, flexible fishing, effectively controlling the Covid-19 epidemic to ensure maximum safety for workers and fishermen, bringing the fishing chain back to a new normal state.
Strive for 40,000 tons of aquatic product exploitation output in the fourth quarter of 2021, of which marine exploitation output is 38,500 tons and inland exploitation output is 1,500 tons.
