Great job opportunities for workers who know Chinese.
With the strong influx of FDI from China into industrial zones in Nghe An, learning Chinese is no longer simply an optional foreign language but has become an essential requirement, offering significant opportunities for workers.
Great opportunity
At the job fair held in the area.VSIP Industrial ParkIn Hung Nguyen commune, on February 28th, the recruitment booth of this company was almost always full of people submitting applications and seeking advice. Notably, the recruitment management team, all Chinese nationals, participated directly, continuously receiving applications and interviewing job seekers on the spot. Many applicants submitted bilingual CVs and were highly regarded for their qualifications and experience.

Just after the Lunar New Year, Everwin Precision Technology Co., Ltd. opened two free Chinese language classes for over 60 workers at its factory. Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang (born in 1984), the head of the company's Administration Department, shared: “Currently, my company has over 2,000 employees, of which 350 are staff and workers from China. To meet job requirements, about 20% of Vietnamese workers in positions such as team leaders, shift supervisors, and other staff members must know Chinese. This helps ensure smooth and better understanding in the workplace, leading to higher productivity and quality, and avoiding unnecessary mistakes.”
Everwin Precision Technology Co., Ltd. has implemented a policy of providing free Chinese language training for its employees since its establishment. Accordingly, from April 2024 to the present, the company has conducted numerous training courses focusing on Chinese language, skills training for specific positions, and machine operation skills. Furthermore, Everwin has a long-term strategy of sending personnel abroad for training. In 2025, the company sent 32 people to China for advanced training; upon their return, these personnel will hold key roles with well-deserved benefits.

As a large enterprise in the province, Luxshare - ICT Nghe An Co., Ltd. is continuing to expand its scale in 2026 and needs to recruit up to 4,000 workers. The majority of these positions require foreign language skills.
Proficiency in Chinese is not only essential for workers and laborers. Working directly with Chinese business owners, experts, and officials, Ms. Nguyen Mai Huong (born in 1987, a trade union official at the Provincial Federation of Labor) decided to learn Chinese to facilitate communication and negotiation regarding the rights and interests of union members and workers.
“The number of FDI businesses from China in the province is increasing. We can't always rely on interpreters; in some situations, interpreters can't fully convey our message. That's why, starting in mid-2025, the Provincial Labor Union opened a free Chinese language class for grassroots and higher-level union officials. From this class, I've been able to communicate at a basic level with Chinese managers and officials, improving relationships and the quality of negotiations,” said Ms. Huong.
Workers adapt quickly.
After reading about the job fair, Mr. Tran Dinh Quyet (born in 1993, from Kim Lien commune) visited the consultation booths of many businesses to gather information and deliberated for a long time before the area of Luxshare - ICT Nghe An Co., Ltd.

“I’ve been working as a mechanic for an auto parts factory in Binh Duong for seven years. This Lunar New Year, I decided to return home permanently and find a job closer to home instead of going far away. However, finding a job that meets my expectations and desired income is very difficult. Most of the positions and companies I’ve targeted require knowledge of Chinese,” Mr. Quyet shared. After much deliberation, Mr. Quyet decided to apply for a temporary position at a Japanese garment company, during which time he would study for a Chinese language certificate to work in a field that matches his skills and expertise.
Ms. Tran Thi Nhung (born in 1993) is one of the job seekers at this event. A graduate of economics with several years of experience working for a Korean company, Ms. Nhung decided a year ago to pursue a new career path and began studying Chinese. After two months of studying and working simultaneously, she decided to quit her old job to focus entirely on an intensive Chinese language course.

Le Thi Hoa, a worker at Everwin Precision Technology Co., Ltd., who participates in the company's free Chinese language class, said: “If we were to self-study outside, to reach level 4 (HSK4+), we would need to spend the equivalent of 13-15 million VND. Meanwhile, after completing the course, we can have the opportunity to take on important positions and increase our income. Seeing this opportunity, I immediately registered. To make it convenient to attend the evening classes at the company, I also signed up for overtime on these days so that there would be no downtime while waiting for class.”
Not only at job fairs, the demand for learning Chinese is also clearly evident at job exchanges held at the Nghe An Employment Service Center. Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh (Vinh Loc ward) registered for an English class through the center but waited for many days without being able to participate. The reason given by the center was that there weren't enough people registering for English classes. In contrast to the English classes, Chinese classes are continuously being opened at all the center's locations throughout the province, and registration allows immediate participation.

Sharing her thoughts on the recent demand for Chinese language learning among workers, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh (born in 1994) - a Chinese language teacher at THL JOBS Center (headquarters in Truong Vinh ward) - shared: “Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for learning Chinese in Nghe An was still very low. But since 2023, when many Chinese businesses chose to invest and build factories in Nghe An, the demand for learning Chinese has increased dramatically. This is clearly visible in the increasing number of Chinese language centers opening throughout the province. That is also why our center has a large number of students and workers. I believe this demand will continue to grow strongly in the future.”
Nguyen Thu Trang, who was invited to teach Chinese to workers, said that if they attend classes three times a week, it takes about 10-11 months for workers to reach the pre-advanced level (HSK4+). If they study intensively every week, it takes about 4-6 months, depending on each person's learning ability. During the learning period, workers need to be diligent and attend classes regularly to achieve the best results. After obtaining the certificate required by the company, workers can receive a minimum salary increase of 1 million VND and a maximum increase of 30% of their current net salary.

In reality, the fact that many workers in Nghe An are choosing to learn Chinese is not a temporary phenomenon but an inevitable transformation.labor marketIn the era of integration, when language barriers are broken down, the gap between foreign managers and Vietnamese workers will narrow, creating a foundation for understanding and sustainable cooperation. This is an opportunity for Nghe An to attract investment not only through land resources and policies, but also through high-quality human resources with international language skills and mindset.
