Trying to cross the railway, the truck was crushed by the freight train.

At about 10:50 a.m. on October 15, the SH3 freight train traveling from North to South, when it reached the section passing through Duc Lac commune (Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh), collided with a 10-ton truck running across the railway.

The strong collision caused the truck to get stuck in the 12th car of the train, the train assistant suffered minor scratches, the truck driver broke his leg and had to go to the hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the front of the truck and the train were stuck together. The 12th car in the train was badly damaged, the driver's cabin was covered with dirt and rocks. The front of the truck was crushed and badly damaged. There were many pieces of debris scattered around, with oil stains everywhere.

The railway industry mobilized rescue personnel and by 2:00 p.m. the same day, the scene had been cleared and the North-South railway returned to normal operation.

Authorities said the accident occurred on a path that people had opened themselves. Despite warning signs and trenches dug on both sides of the railway to prohibit cars, the driver still deliberately drove, causing the accident.
