Nghe An approves the policy of surveying 6 resettlement areas for the high-speed railway project.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just approved the policy of surveying 6 locations to establish resettlement planning areas to serve the site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project in Tan Chau, Duc Chau, and Quynh Son communes.
Specific locations include:
- People's Committee of Tan Chau commune:Location No. 01, in the 10 Ton field area, Song Tien hamlet, with a survey and planning area of about 1.66 hectares.
Location No. 02, in the 10 Ton field area, Song Tien hamlet, Tan Chau commune with a survey and planning area of about 1.2 hectares.
- People's Committee of Duc Chau commune:Location No. 01, in Xuan Khanh village, with a survey and planning area of about 3.0 hectares.
Location No. 02, in My Ly village, with a survey and planning area of about 1.45 hectares.
-People's Committee of Quynh Son commune:Location No. 01, in Cao Dong area, village 5 Quynh My, with a survey and planning area of about 1.78 hectares.
Location No. 03, in Dong Phan Tram area, hamlet 1 Quynh Lam, with a survey and planning area of about 1.1 hectares.

The Provincial People's Committee assigns relevant departments, branches, units and localitiesConduct surveys, establish detailed plans (1/500 scale) for resettlement areas and implement the next steps in accordance with regulations; Take the lead in coordinating with relevant departments, branches, agencies and units to complete procedures on planning, compensation for site clearance, land, construction investment and other contents in accordance with current laws; use for the right purposes and for the right resettlement subjects, and avoid waste and loss.
The Departments of Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment; the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone and relevant agencies and units proactively inspect and supervise the implementation process to promptly guide localities to synchronously deploy legal procedures in accordance with regulations, ensuring the required progress.

In Nghe An, the North-South high-speed railway project is expected to directly affect 38 residential areas, with about 2,150 households having land within the clearance area, of which 1,942 households must be resettled. The expected clearance area is about 519.2 hectares, with an estimated clearance cost of about VND6,397 billion.
Previously, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a plan to clear the land for the entire route passing through the area, clearly assigning responsibilities and roadmaps to each department, branch, and locality. Nghe An strives to complete procedures to start 3 resettlement areas early in Hoang Mai ward, Tan Chau commune, Hung Nguyen Nam commune and complete the determination of locations for the remaining resettlement areas in October 2025.
