Con Cuong forest fire prevention and fighting drill

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of June 15, in Chau Khe commune, the Steering Committee for Forest Planning and Development of Con Cuong district organized a 2016 forest fire prevention and control drill.

The exercise mobilized more than 300 participants including mass teams, local people and police, army, Forest Rangers, and Pu Mat National Park.

The drill on responding to forest fires in Chau Khe commune with the theme "Party committees, authorities, sectors, organizations and people organize and practice forest fire prevention and control, and overcome the consequences caused by forest fires with the motto of practicality, efficiency, safety and economy".

The exercise was divided into two phases: Phase 1, mechanism exercise; Phase 2, live-fire exercise, forest fire fighting practice in Bung village, Chau Khe commune. The exercise plans took place according to plan, ensuring absolute safety for people and property.

Con Cuong district has a total natural area of ​​over 174 thousand hectares, of which nearly 154 thousand hectares are forest land and forestry land, over 80% of the land area is forested with a coverage of 85%. With increasingly complicated weather conditions, combined with the limited awareness of some households living near the forest, the risk of forest fires is very high. Through drills to raise awareness and responsibility for officials, people and forest owners. At the same time, it is an opportunity to improve leadership and management capacity when forest fires occur in the locality.
