(Baonghean.vn) - Up to this point, farmers in Con Cuong district have planted nearly 350/2,274 hectares of 2016 spring rice. The locality is expected to finish planting in early February, the 26th of Tet.

This spring crop, Con Cuong district plans to plant 2,274 hectares of rice. Up to this point, localities are regulating irrigation water for farmers to prepare rice fields. According to the report of the district's Department of Agriculture, although the amount of water in dams and streams has decreased compared to previous years, the entire rice growing area this spring crop has enough water for planting. In general, most localities strictly follow the planting schedule as directed by the district People's Committee, with about 3 hectares of farmers sowing.

As of January 20, Con Cuong farmers have planted 325.8 hectares of rice, and are expected to finish planting in early February 2016. This spring crop, Con Cuong has 5 main rice varieties, including: BTE 1, Nhi Uu 986, Song Lam 9, and Vat Tu NA 2.

This winter-spring crop, Con Cuong also planted 889 hectares of corn, 210 hectares of peanuts and 271 hectares of various vegetables and beans.
