During the investigation, Thanh confessed that due to greed, he bought the above fireworks for more than 4.5 million VND from an unknown person on December 18, 2017 in the Vietnam-China border area. He brought them home and divided them into small pieces and hid them in every corner of the house such as under the bed, under the stairs, in the bathroom, in the attic, and in an abandoned warehouse to sell them for profit.
Considering the case as a whole, the People's Court sentenced defendant Vu Thi Thanh to 16 months in prison for "trading in prohibited goods".
As for the person who sold the fireworks to Thanh, because they did not know his name or specific address, there was no basis for investigation and verification. As for Hoang Vu Quang Huy, he had committed the act of selling fireworks but there were not enough elements to constitute a crime, so Quy Hop police issued a decision to impose an administrative fine and hand him over to the local authorities for management and education.
