Bui Duc Hien and Nguyen Thi Mai were caught red-handed by the special police force of Can Tho City Police. |
Before that, at 9am on March 4, Hien invited his mother-in-law, Mrs. Cuc, and Mrs. Mai to go for coffee on 30-4 Street, Hung Loi Ward, Ninh Kieu District. There, the three discussed getting on the bus to "eat goods" to earn some spending money. After agreeing, the three chose the Ninh Kieu - O Mon bus route, which is the route with the most passengers.
Before getting on the bus, Hien assigned Ms. Mai to sit right at the door, Hien to sit in the back seat, and Ms. Cuc to sit in the row in front of Hien. When the bus reached CMT8 Street, Bui Huu Nghia Ward, Binh Thuy District, Hien stole an Oppo mobile phone, worth 5.5 million VND, from a female passenger on the bus.
Afterwards, Hien gave the stolen phone to Mrs. Mai, who then passed it on to Mrs. Cuc. However, the actions of the three subjects did not escape the eyes of the criminal detectives. When the three subjects were about to get out of the car, they were caught red-handed by the detectives.
