Nghe An Police Department leads the country in administrative reform index for the fourth consecutive year.

Receiving and working with the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, on the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police.

At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police Department briefly reported on the situation and results of the work achieved by Nghe An Police in the first 10 months of 2019.

Accordingly, all 52 targets assigned by the Ministry of Public Security since the beginning of the year have been achieved, of which 35 targets have been exceeded. The national security situation has been maintained, preventing the formation of hot spots. Nghe An Police has provided absolute safety for 80 delegations of Party and State leaders, important international guests, national political and social events, and major festivals taking place in the area.

At the same time, the unit has stepped up crime prevention, attack and suppression, preventing organized crime from operating like a mafia; the rate of investigation and case resolution is high.

After checking and working with Nghe An Provincial Police in the previous working days, representatives of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security's professional departments agreed on the targets achieved and exceeded by Nghe An Police in the first 10 months of 2019.

The Provincial Police have done a good job of grasping the situation, providing sharp and timely advice in resolving issues related to national security, avoiding being passive, sudden, and forming "hot spots" in the area. Social order crimes occurred in 764 cases, killing 26 people, injuring 239 people, compared to the same period in 2018, a decrease of 76 cases (9%); investigated and clarified 649/764 cases of violating social order, reaching 84.9% (the Ministry assigned a target of 70%), very serious and especially serious cases reached 98.9%. Drug crimes continued to be vigorously fought by units of the Provincial Police, detecting and arresting 1,189 cases, 1,441 drug criminals, seizing 906 kg of drugs of all kinds; including 52 major cases, armed attacks to eliminate 3 groups using firearms to illegally trade drugs in the border area. Compared to the same period in 2018, there were 153 cases and 141 subjects. Traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria.

The process of investigation, arrest and handling of crimes must not allow wrongful convictions or criminals to escape.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the achievements in development and socio-economic development of Nghe An province in 2019 had a significant contribution from the Provincial Police. He hoped that the Ministry of Public Security would continue to pay attention and create conditions to build Nghe An Police to become a Heroic unit of the People's Armed Forces in the renovation period.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh commended and congratulated the excellent results achieved by Nghe An Police in 2019.

The Deputy Minister also assessed that Nghe An Police is one of the typical units in completing and exceeding the targets assigned by the Ministry of Public Security, especially in timely and effective advisory work with the Party Committee, government and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security in solving complex security and order issues.

In addition, Nghe An Provincial Police have also been proactive in grasping, handling and resolving cases in accordance with the law. Administrative reform continues to achieve high efficiency, leading the country in the administrative reform index for the fourth consecutive year.

Previously, the delegation of Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh visited and worked in Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district. Here, the delegation worked with the People's Committee of Ngoc Lam commune, attended the national solidarity festival and presented gifts to policy families in the area.
