Changes in the way graduation scores are calculated
The 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be adjusted compared to previous years. The scoring formula includes:
50%: Average score of 4 subjects.
50%: Average score of school report cards for grades 10, 11 and 12.
Priority points: If the candidate is eligible for priority points.
Compared to before, the proportion of academic transcript scores increased by 20%, aiming to comprehensively evaluate students' learning process and reduce exam pressure.
The 2025 exam is the first year of applying the 2018 General Education Program, with more than 1.16 million candidates registering for the exam, an increase of about 100,000 compared to 2024. Of which, about 25,977 candidates taking the exam under the 2006 Program will be arranged at separate exam locations.
Exam results will be announced on July 16, 2025, one day earlier than in 2024.
The Ministry of Education and Training encourages candidates to prepare carefully, especially familiarizing themselves with the published sample exam structure, while ensuring their health and mental stability before the exam.
The 2025 High School Graduation Exam is expected to take place safely, seriously and fairly, creating favorable conditions for candidates to enter the next stage in their studies and careers.
