The amazing medicinal uses of sea purslane
According to Oriental medicine, sea spinach has a spicy, bitter taste, and a slightly cold nature; affects the liver and spleen meridians; has the effect of eliminating rheumatism, reducing tumors, and dispersing stasis. It is used to treat rheumatism, painful boils, hives, heat toxins in the skin, toothaches caused by wind and fire, back pain, inflammatory diseases, and digestive disorders.
Sea purslane is a perennial plant that grows on the ground, on sandy beaches along the coast. Wherever it spreads, its roots grow there. At first glance, it looks like water spinach. Its stem is like water spinach but is not hollow but solid and has many branches. The leaves grow alternately, shaped like a horseshoe. Young leaves have two pieces that fold together. Both the leaves and the vine have sap; when broken, a milky white sap flows out like sweet potato sap.
