Cong Phuong played the full 90 minutes in Belgium, but his team still lost.
In the 90-minute match played for the U21 Sint Truidense youth team against U21 Club Brugge, striker Cong Phuong still had to witness his team lose 1-2.
Not being able to play continuously in recent matches in the Belgian National Championship despite being registered in the competition, so to create a sense of competition for Cong Phuong, the Sint Truidense coaching board decided to give this striker the opportunity to join the Sint Truidense U21 squad when facing U21 Club Brugge.

The striker from HAGL played the full 90 minutes. Unfortunately, U21 Sint Truidense still had to accept defeat with a score of 1-2 against U21 Club Brugge. In the 2019/2020 Belgian National Championship, Sint Truidense also suffered a heavy defeat with a score of 0-6 against Club Brugge. In this confrontation, Cong Phuong was used for the last 20 minutes after the home team had conceded 4 goals.
Although facing big challenges when playing in the Belgian National Championship, hopefully with opportunities like playing for the Sint Truidense U21 team, Cong Phuong will gradually get used to it and will assert himself at the right time. As known, this striker has just been called up by coach Park Hang-seo to the Vietnam National Team to prepare for the match against Thailand in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Cong Phuong will not join his teammates in Hanoi but will take a direct flight to Thailand in the next few days.
