After 6 matches of Yokohama FC since the beginning of the season, Cong Phuong was only registered to play in 1 match in the J-League Cup and has not played any minutes. On the field, Yokohama FC's performance continued to be poor when the team lost 1-4 to Kyoto Sanga and sank deep into the bottom of the rankings.
Meanwhile, Chanathip made his first return to the Kawasaki Frontale J-League starting lineup in five months. The Thai star played quite actively and had two shots before being subbed off in the 76th minute. However, the Thai Messi's efforts were not enough to help Kawasaki Frontale beat Cerezo Osaka. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
