Cong Phuong: 'The first match for Sint-Truiden was difficult'
The Vietnamese striker shared after his debut for the Belgian club on July 17.
"I am very happy to be given the opportunity to play for Sint-Truiden early. This match I had to try to adapt to my new teammates so it was difficult," Cong Phuong shared.
Immediately after passing the medical examination and officially signing the contract, Cong Phuong was arranged by coach Marc Brys to start in the friendly match against Lommel SK on July 17. The Vietnamese national team striker was unable to show much when he was closely followed by the tall defenders of the away team. He left the field in the 70th minute, making way for French striker of Ivorian origin Yohan Boli.

Cong Phuong joined Sint-Truiden on a one-year contract. At the Belgian club, he will have to compete for a position with many stars such as former Japanese player Yama Suzuki, striker Yohan Boli valued at 2.5 million USD, or captain Jordan Botaka...
This is the third time Cong Phuong has played abroad. Previously, the HAGL striker played for Mito Hollyhock of Japan and Incheon United of Korea but was unsuccessful.
