Cong Vinh recruits former U21 SLNA star

(Baonghean.vn) - Finally, after many years of playing for teams in the First Division, striker Vu Quang Nam will return to V.League from phase 2.

Vu Quang Nam belongs to the generation that joined SLNA with players Nguyen Manh, Hoang Thinh, Khac Ngoc... This is the player who helped U21 SLNA convincingly win the National U21 Finals in 2012, the 4th championship for the young team from Nghe An after 10 years of waiting.

As for striker Vu Quang Nam, with 5 goals scored in the final round, plus a brilliant performance on the field, the player from Quynh Luu won the double "Best player of the tournament", "Top scorer (5 goals) of the tournament that year.

Right after winning the championship with U21 SLNA, Vu Quang Nam had to live with a meniscus injury for 3 years and was unable to return to the field if he could not go abroad for treatment. There was a time when Quang Nam sadly thought about retiring early and SLNA had no choice but to terminate the contract with the very promising talent they had trained.

However, last year, Quang Nam unexpectedly returned to football after tireless efforts in the Phu Yen shirt in the First Division. After playing quite successfully in the Phu Yen shirt, the former SLNA talent continued to drift to Hue Club.

Until the second phase of V.League 2017, the good news really came to the talented striker from SLNA when his senior Le Cong Vinh asked him to sign a 1.5 year contract. And up to now, he has officially become a member of Ho Chi Minh City Club.

At the team chaired by Le Cong Vinh, Quang Nam will play alongside Au Van Hoan and Hong Viet, both of whom are players who grew up at SLNA and have become famous.
