Although this is only the initial result of implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Alcohol Harm and Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP, there have been positive signs, with traffic accidents significantly decreasing in number of cases, deaths and injuries. It is worth noting that the majority of people agree and support the strict punishment of violations of alcohol concentration when participating in traffic.
However, many people now believe that during the Lunar New Year, people traditionally toast each other with a glass of wine or beer, so the traffic police's handling of the issue is "flexible" compared to normal days.
