Cua Lo voters: Thousands of tons of seafood from fishermen cannot be consumed

The conference listened to Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council report on the results of the first session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2016 - 2021; the results of implementing the Provincial People's Council Resolution in the first 6 months of 2016; and the expected content of the program of the upcoming 2nd session of the 18th Provincial People's Council.

Voters of Cua Lo town are excited, confident and highly agree with the results of the session and the socio-economic situation, national defense and security of the province in the past time and recommend to the delegates of the Provincial and Town People's Councils to focus on the issues of promoting administrative reform; attracting investment; revoking suspended projects; consequences of Cua Lo fishermen in the face of fish deaths in the Central provinces in the past time.
Voter Dau Luu Binh - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Nghi Tan Ward reflected: Nghi Tan people mainly live on fishing and seafood trading. The recent fish deaths in the Central provinces have severely affected the jobs, lives, and incomes of people and businesses in the ward.

Currently, Nghi Tan ward still has about 2,500 tons of frozen seafood that have not been sold, more than 30 aquaculture households are facing many difficulties. Estimated revenue loss in the ward is about 2 billion VND/month. It is recommended that the State should have policies to promote and support people to continue fishing, trading seafood and developing tourism.

Regarding administrative reform, voter Tran Bach Mai in Nghi Hai ward suggested: Although there have been many changes in administrative reform, there are still many cumbersome administrative procedures. A number of cadres and civil servants have limited capacity, qualifications, and public ethics, failing to meet job requirements. The situation of deputy inflation is still common in many agencies and units. It is recommended that the State strictly handle cadres who harass, cause trouble for the people, violate public ethics, attract talent, and improve the qualifications and style of serving the people of the cadres and civil servants.

The wasteful exploitation of natural resources was the content that many Cua Lo voters proposed at the meeting. "The indiscriminate deforestation, affecting people's lives and the environment, is still happening. The management of mineral exploitation is still lax. We propose that the State and the province need to have strict sanctions to protect natural resources for sustainable economic development" - voter Nguyen Van Tuat - Nghi Thuy Ward proposed.
