Voters propose comprehensive survey and assessment of hydropower projects in the province

(Baonghean.vn) - This is one of the contents that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has compiled voters' opinions and sent to the 4th session of the Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Van Huy said that voters and people continue to complain even though the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have reviewed and removed 22 hydropower projects from the planning.

However, currently, the number of hydropower projects planned in the province is still large, 33 projects, of which many are small capacity, low efficiency, and have a great impact on the ecological environment.

"Voters suggest continuing to direct all levels and sectors to survey and comprehensively evaluate hydropower projects in the area, promptly remove from the planning, and revoke investment licenses for projects that are unfeasible, inefficient, slow to implement or have not been implemented, and have a great impact on the ecological environment," said Mr. Nguyen Van Huy.

Also at this session, voters recommended that the Provincial People's Committee continue to improve the investment and business environment, strengthen leadership at all levels; accelerate the restructuring of the agricultural sector; direct administrative reform more resolutely, and improve the spirit and attitude of serving the people of cadres, civil servants, and public employees...

Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee raised 5 recommendations of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to be sent to the 4th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to continue to resolutely direct the implementation of Resolution No. 04-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee (12th tenure).

"I request that party members, officials, civil servants, especially leaders of the government system at all levels, with a frank spirit, correctly assess the advantages and limitations in leadership, management, and task implementation," - Mr. Huy stated.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also proposed to continue to enhance responsibility in the fight against corruption and waste; resolutely handle the responsibility of the Party and the Government for violations by Party members, cadres and civil servants to preserve the purity and prestige of the Party and State, maintain discipline and law, and strengthen people's trust.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also requested the Provincial People's Committee to organize an inspection and examination of state management of sand and mineral exploitation throughout the province; continue to enhance responsibility in state management to ensure the exploitation and use of resources in accordance with regulations, for the right purpose and economically; and well implement the planning and licensing of mining to ensure long-term stability.

At the same time, direct relevant agencies and local authorities to strengthen inspection and strictly handle cases of waste discharge causing environmental pollution. Develop and implement plans and programs to resolve the treatment of domestic waste and livestock waste in rural areas.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also requested the Provincial People's Committee to more drastically implement the restructuring of agriculture, especially implementing the State's support policies and helping farmers negotiate and cooperate with businesses to consume agricultural products; at the same time, request the Provincial People's Committee and local authorities to continue to strictly implement the clearance of violations of road, railway and sidewalk traffic safety corridors in the province.

Finally, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy suggested that districts, cities and towns continue to coordinate well with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to direct localities at the grassroots level to organize and implement well the dialogue activities between the government and the people periodically.

"Consider this an important activity in the work of building the government of the Fatherland Front at all levels; at the same time coordinate and create conditions for the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province to continue to effectively implement the monitoring programs proposed by the Fatherland Front", - Mr. Nguyen Van Huy emphasized.
