Voters in Hoang Mai: Officials must avoid beating around the bush and must not 'torture' the people.

(Baonghean.vn) - Voters in Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town believe that officials need to clearly understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people, support thorough problem solving and avoid beating around the bush and 'torturing' the people.

Opening the conference, National Assembly Deputy Nguyen Sy Hoi informed voters about the agenda of the third session, scheduled to take place from May 22 to June 17. At this session, the National Assembly deputies are expected to pass 13 draft laws, 4 draft resolutions and give opinions on 4 draft laws.

In addition, the meeting will review the report assessing the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in 2016 and the first months of 2017, and approve the 2015 budget settlement.

The National Assembly also plans to supervise the implementation of food safety policies in 2011-2016, and pass a resolution on the National Assembly's program of activities in 2018.

In the spirit of openness and democracy, voters of Hoang Mai town highly appreciated the activities of the National Assembly delegation in recent times, and frankly raised recommendations and concerns among the people.

The representative of voters in block 8 of Quynh Xuan ward said that after the two previous meetings of the National Assembly deputies with voters, thanks to the timely intervention of the delegation of National Assembly deputies, in coordination with relevant agencies, departments and branches, the regime for 18 households belonging to the category of meritorious people in Quynh Xuan ward was fully resolved, of which block 8 had 8 households. Voters thanked the delegation of National Assembly deputies for promptly clarifying problems and promptly responding to policies for meritorious people.

Voter Nguyen Minh Nghia, Quynh Phuong ward also expressed his agreement with delegate Nguyen Dac Vinh's view that the work that belongs to the responsibility of each sector must be resolved by that sector. Voter Nghia emphasized: "Officials must clearly understand the aspirations of the people to thoroughly resolve difficulties and problems, avoiding beating around the bush and "torturing" the people!"

Through practical monitoring, Mr. Nghia commented that Nghe An is a locality that has implemented well the regimes and policies according to the state's guidelines. However, this voter said that in implementing the regimes and policies, it is necessary to ensure accuracy, eliminate cases of fake war invalids, fake Agent Orange, etc. and suggested that the competent authority coordinate with functional agencies to conduct regular inspections.

In addition, voters also raised the concerns that Quynh Phuong people had petitioned at the 2016 voter contact conference regarding the establishment of a landfill for the town. Voter Nghia reflected the current situation: It has been more than 4 years since the separation from Quynh Luu, but Hoang Mai has not yet planned and selected a location to build a separate landfill. Recently, Quynh Luu did not allow Hoang Mai to dump garbage anymore, while in Quynh Phuong ward, for example, if it is delayed by only 10 days, where will the garbage go?

On that basis, he proposed that the National Assembly delegation suggest that the State learn advanced technology from other countries to consult and apply to localities. If it cannot be done, it must also plan temporary treatment points.

Representative of Block 8, Mai Hung Ward, voter Dau Xuan Nam - Block Leader was excited when on April 21, he heard the representative of the Town's Department of Natural Resources announce that they had installed an environmental monitoring system at Hoang Mai Cement Factory, publicly announcing the parameters to ensure safety. Similarly, after the Department of Natural Resources and Environment installed a monitoring system at Quynh Phuong beach and announced that 11/12 indicators met, 1 index was within the acceptable threshold, people and residents of the localities felt more secure when coming to this coastal area.

However, voters in Nam are concerned about the possibility of the Hoang Mai River being polluted due to the influence of seafood processing facilities along the river. According to voters, many households in Mai Hung ward raise shrimp, but the shrimp often get sick and die in large numbers, causing losses to the people; oyster farming is stunted due to polluted water; people who go into the river shirtless have a layer of grease stuck to their bodies...

Voters requested that authorities take measures to inspect and handle seafood processing facilities that cause environmental pollution, and at the same time conduct inspections of the pollution level of the Hoang Mai River, and properly handle this issue to serve the orientation of developing tourism on the river.

In addition, voters' opinions also focused on other issues such as: electricity prices after the electricity industry replaced electronic meters, food safety and hygiene, controlling expired vehicles to prevent vehicle fires; publicizing revenue and expenditure activities, investment, and profits from the annual social insurance fund, DNA testing to identify martyrs, etc.

Speaking at the conference, delegate Nguyen Dac Vinh assessed the timeAlong with the whole province, Hoang Mai has made progress in socio-economic development, and at the same time clearly explained and emphasized some contents that the town's voters are interested in.

Regarding the compensation issue for the National Highway 1A project, the delegate said that this is a problem that many localities in and outside the province are facing. The province is calculating to find a source of compensation for the people, proposing a plan to propose the Government to balance the source to pay, or if there is still land, exchange land for the people. The Provincial Party Secretary also affirmed that he will assign the Provincial People's Committee to discuss and soon have a plan to discuss with voters on this issue, and at the same time request Hoang Mai town to increase dialogue with the people regularly, promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, answer people's questions through documents, phone calls, etc.

Noting that the locality continues to implement well the policies for people with meritorious services, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that local officials, when receiving applications, must fully answer the people, whether they are approved or not, and what documents are missing so that the applicants know. The head of the Provincial Party Committee also requested that the locality pay more attention to issues such as establishing landfills, planning cemeteries, etc. to meet the people's wishes.

Regarding food safety and hygiene, management of agricultural materials, stimulants, and preservatives, ministries and branches have issued guidelines. Delegate Nguyen Dac Vinh suggested that localities pay attention to these documents. According to the delegate, the agricultural sector must guide farmers to use pesticides properly, and market management must step in to control counterfeit and poor quality goods circulating in the market.

The Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies promised to fully absorb the opinions and recommendations of voters and forward them to the National Assembly, the Government and relevant ministries and branches for receipt and resolution. Along with that, the National Assembly Deputies will pay attention to supervising the competent agencies in resolving legitimate recommendations, meeting the expectations of the people.
