Voters of Le Loi ward want to escape from flooding

(Baonghean.vn) - Voters in Le Loi ward, Vinh city reported that flooding occurs continuously, especially during the rainy season, seriously affecting people's lives.

On the morning of November 19, delegates of the Provincial People's Council and delegates of the Vinh City People's Council met with voters of Le Loi and Quan Bau wards, Vinh City.

Delegates of the Provincial People's Council include: Ms. Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - President of the Women's Union of Quan Bau Ward, along with delegates of the Vinh City People's Council, representatives of local government leaders meeting with voters of Le Loi Ward, Quan Bau, Vinh City.

Voter Ngo Duy Ly (Block 8, Le Loi Ward) reported that many roads such as Ly Thuong Kiet and Nguyen Thai Hoc are deeply flooded every time it rains, seriously affecting people's lives, making travel difficult and damaging property. Therefore, voters requested relevant authorities to promptly renovate and upgrade the drainage system, and relieve the flood "navel" for the people.

Voter Nguyen Van Hai (Block 1, Quan Bau Ward) said that in the area, there are many large apartment buildings and houses being built, but the planning of apartment buildings is not yet consistent. In addition, there are many factories and workshops located in residential areas, but they do not ensure waste treatment and environmental sanitation, affecting people's lives. Voters hope that all levels and sectors will inspect and review carefully, and move factories and workshops out of residential areas.

Many voters in Le Loi Ward said that currently, the ward has many clusters of schools of all levels with a huge number of students. During rush hour, the situation of parents parking on the sidewalks and crowded roads has caused serious traffic congestion. Voters suggested that it is necessary to quickly upgrade the traffic infrastructure to find a solution to this problem.

In addition, voters hope that People's Council delegates at all levels need to pay more attention to issues of land clearance, compensation for households on Le Ninh Street, environmental protection fees, renovating the power line system, allowances for non-professional staff, transparency in electricity revenue and expenditure, etc.

After listening to voters' opinions and wishes, delegates of the Provincial People's Council and Vinh City People's Council accepted and responded to the contents within their authority and said they would forward the remaining recommendations and proposals to the upcoming Provincial People's Council meeting./.
